7. Men tend to have oily skin. Do men with oily skin need moisturizing facial care?

Yes, men's skin is thicker, firmer, often oilier, and yet it still needs a lot of moisture.

Wrinkles primarily occur due to lack of moisture and can therefore often be kept under control at the beginning.

Men could share their partner's cream pot, but they often prefer simpler and more straightforward skincare products that smell masculine, absorb quickly, and are just cooler. 8. Consequently, can one slow down skin aging? But is prevention really a decisive factor, or is it not enough to start when the first wrinkles appear?

That's exactly why I became a preventative therapist, because prevention is generally better than treatment afterward.

You can already partially look 10 to 15 years younger, even without one of the popular mini interventions at the beauty doctor.

But as with everything in life, discipline is required. At the beginning, a few wrinkles may appear, and they are still easy to care for. If they turn into real wrinkles, then the battle to prevent skin rupture begins. Skin ruptures are the visible lines, and unfortunately, they are irreparable.

9. Are there cosmetic treatments that you recommend to men?

Men love technology and modern applications.

However, since they are often less pain-resistant, they opt for less aggressive methods than women. This is a real advantage, as overly aggressive methods can strain the skin. A really good treatment makes the skin glow immediately afterward and peaks after a few days.

Oxygen treatments are also very popular with us and make tired men's skin really beautiful again.

Shaving is a daily concern for men and can irritate the skin significantly. What skincare do you recommend during and after shaving?

Shaving is often as individual as the man himself. Especially with wet shaving, skincare before and after is very important. Beforehand, it's important to prepare the hair well and protect the skin from the blade.

Afterward, it's essential to quickly restore the skin's acid mantle balance. Liquid aftershaves are rarely used today. Often, these dry out the skin further due to the alcohol content and cause new irritations.

Do you have any tips for preventing skin irritations such as redness?

Minor redness, which often fades quickly, is a familiar experience for almost every man after shaving. Here too, it's important to shave wisely.

The direction should follow the direction of growth to cause fewer irritations. However, it has the disadvantage that shaving against the grain is often deeper and therefore more thorough, but more stressful for the skin.

In general, for sensitive skin, it's advisable to occasionally skip shaving to give the skin more time to recover.

Do you have any tips for our readers on how to prevent and alleviate skin inflammation, and how to counteract the risk of acne scars?

Yes, acne is particularly challenging for young men.

If medical advice doesn't require special treatment, it's important to stay consistent here as well.

Cleanse the skin effectively, not too aggressively, and avoid squeezing pimples - it always leads to scarring and rarely solves the problem. It's better to gently push away the secretions and disinfect after washing.

In general, a healthy lifestyle with adequate hydration (water!) also has a very important additional influence here.
