Interview with Daniela Schmitz - Part I

Healthy skin equals beautiful skin

Our interview guest, Daniela Schmitz, is the owner of the Beauty Institute Coolini in Hannover.

She offers her clients a special kind of professional skincare because her credo is - 'Those who are not healthy are often not beautiful either'.

Therefore, in Daniela's treatments, only modern technology and products are used that support the skin's functions in harmony with nature's natural rhythm.

1. What characterizes vital skin and what should be considered?

Vital skin is characterized by optimal function and a good balance. The following aspects of skin condition should be considered before skincare:

General sensitivity, skin texture, any open pimples, or existing irritations.

Vital skin offers a beautiful complexion, sufficient elasticity with good moisture, and often appears younger, even age-appropriate.

2. What should be considered in day and night skin care?

It is important to consider the individual needs of the current skin condition.

During the day, protection often plays a primary role, where antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents can help. Sunscreen factors may also be appropriate depending on the season and location.

In the evening, it is important to nourish the skin and provide it with a base for regeneration during the night.

3. What importance does skin cleansing have for a beautiful complexion?

Skin cleansing plays a crucial role in achieving a great complexion as it helps to remove excess oil, dirt, dead skin cells, potential residues, and other impurities.

Thorough cleansing also aids in keeping pores clear, clarifying the complexion, preventing blemishes, and preparing the skin optimally for the absorption of skincare products.

A consistent skincare routine can greatly support this.

4. Which method of skin cleansing - and how often - do you recommend?

Cleansing in the morning and evening is super important to me.

Skin oils and dirt particles need strong opponents. Whether it's gel, foam, or OMRO's face wash and shaving cream - definitely don't just clean with water.

5. What is your opinion on exfoliation? How often should it be done?

Exfoliation is overrated. Most home-use products are either too aggressive or contain traces of microplastics.

Since the natural renewal cycle is 28 days, there's really no need to exfoliate the skin so frequently.

Professional support would be highly recommended in this regard, and for that, gentle diamond microdermabrasion is our method of choice.

Part II of the interview with Daniela will soon be published on our blog and will cover the following topics.
  • Male skincare
  • Skin aging
  • Shaving and its impact on the skin
  • Preventing and treating skin irritations
  • Acne-prone skin
  • Acne
